Rabin Medical Center (RMC), comprised of both Beilinson and Hasharon Hospitals, is one of the most prominent and largest medical facilities in Israel. Affiliated with Tel-Aviv University Sackler School of Medicine, RMC collaborates with some of the largest and most esteemed medical centers world-wide. Beilinson and Hasharon Hospitals recently received international accreditation for safety and quality standards from JCI (Joint Commission International) a most prestigious organization for evaluation of health care organizations.
The Integrative Medicine Unit, headed by Dr. Ofer Caspi (site PI on this project), works simultaneously with the multi-disciplinary team of specialists at the Davidoff Center for cancer treatment offers many different types of complementary therapies including acupuncture sessions supplemented by the use of Chinese herbs, shiatsu and reflexology, mind-body therapies such as hypnosis and interactive guided imagery, naturopathic medicine, consultations and group therapies such as Yoga, Pilates , Tai-Chi, and Feldenkrais.
The Felsenstein Medical Research Center (FMRC), situated on the hospital campus of Rabin Medical Center, is affiliated to the Tel Aviv University Sackler School of Medicine, is one of the largest and most distinguished academic medical institutions in Israel. The various departments combine the practice of clinical medicine at the highest level together with a broad range of clinical and basic research has 50 modern, fully equipped research laboratories offering a unique opportunity for conducting basic research with direct clinical applications.
In the Community. We recruited a large portion of our participants through not-for-profit organizations, and social and community activists that work in support of breast cancer survivors, through social media and word of mouth.
